Lately, I’ve been talking to so many clients about something that feels really simple, but honestly kind of life-changing — creating your own version of a turn-down service at home.
You know that feeling when you walk into a hotel room at night after dinner, and the staff has already been in? The bed is turned down, the lights are low, calm and ready for you. You feel royal, like everything was set up jut how you like it.
That feeling doesn’t have to be reserved for hotels.
You can create it yourself, every single night!
Don't overthink this, its not about adding more to your routine, but streamlining it and making it feel super luxurious and feminine.
Here are a few of my favorite turn-down service details
Warm the Bed Before You Ever Get In
I’ll put a heating pad or heated neck wrap right on top of my side of the bed so it’s already warm when I climb in. It sounds small, but the difference is huge. Getting into a pre-warmed bed feels so cozy — especially when you have the window cracked slightly to let in fresh air, but your skin is warm...
Instant relaxation.
Swap Harsh Lighting for Soft, Dim Glow
Lighting changes everything.
If you can, ditch overhead lights at night and switch to soft, dim side lighting instead. Rechargeable sconces, art lights, or low bedside lamps are perfect. You want candle light glow, not overstimulating flourescent or LED's getting your body all worked up without you even realizing.
The moment the lighting changes, your body gets the message: the day is done.
Make Your Nighttime Water Feel Special
This one feels tiny, but it’s one of my favorites.
Have a dedicated, beautiful coaster just for your nighttime water — marble, crystal, stone, something that feels grounding and intentional. When even your glass of water has a place that feels pretty, your whole routine feels "instagram model" worthy
It’s not about practicality, just do the things that make you smile
Curate Your Nightstand Like a Ritual, Not Storage
Your nightstand should feel like a ritual tray, not a dumping ground.
I always suggest keeping just your favorite nighttime skin care there. The products you actually look forward to using and are easy to apply while laying in bed. Things like your Qi At Home Kit, LILFOX Violet Rose, or a hydrating mist.
Think about it as your last moment of self-care for the day.
Mist, Breathe, and Let Your Body Land
A light facial or pillow mist before bed does more than hydrate — it becomes a signal.
I love lightly spritzing my pillow or skin, taking a deep breath in, and letting my shoulders drop. Over time, your body starts to associate that scent and that moment with rest and safety.
It’s such a simple way to tell your nervous system: you’re done for today.
Finish with a Sleep Mask That Feels Like a Cocoon
A sleep mask is non-negotiable for me.
I love the silk, softly weighted ones from Drowsy because they don’t feel tight or restrictive, they feel like a gentle hug for your face. Putting it on feels like closing a curtain between the world and your rest.
It’s the final step. The signal that you’re officially off duty.
The Real Luxury Is Being Thoughtful With Yourself
A hotel turn-down service isn’t really about the bed. It’s about being considered.
When you create this kind of ritual at home, you’re doing that for yourself. You’re preparing your space, your body, and your mind for rest - not rushing through the end of the day, but looking forward to it.
It’s a quiet way of saying:
I deserve to feel taken care of here.
And that, to me, is real luxury.
